The patented technology with nanofiber battery separator structure makes the battery more durable, flexible, safer, higher ionic conductivity than convention lithium-ion batteries. The mesh-like structure of nanofiber battery separator has excellent efficiency for electric ion exchange. The nanofiber battery separator sponge structure effectively separates electrodes when battery is under pressure and deformed. This is a key feature of the flexible battery technology has been presented at IDTechEx Show.

This technology with nanofiber battery separator researched by Nano and Advanced Materials Institute (NAMI) has the Gold Medal award in the 45th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva 2017. It was also granted the Prize of the Chinese Delegation for Invention and Innovation, and a Special Award for the Invention by Romanian Association for Nonconventional Technologies at the Geneva exhibition.

This nanofiber battery separator has the characteristics of high porosity. Suitable polymer formulation is adopted to make nanofiber battery separator a strong and durable mesh. It effectively holds electrolyte and allows efficient flow of electric ion within battery cell. The high efficiency of electric ion flow also reduces degradation of battery. Hence our technology is not only allowing bending, but also extending battery life.
